50 years committed to excellence

Marítima Dominicana was founded in the spring of 1971, to act as shipping agents and cargo stevedores in all ports of the Dominican Republic, including Santo Domingo, Río Haina, Caucedo, Boca Chica, AES Andrés, Barahona, Cabo Rojo, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Azua, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Manzanillo, Palenque, and Bahía de Ocoa.

The main office was established in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, where the majority of import and export cargo was handled in the port of Santo Domingo. As maritime freight developed through the use of containers and modernized ship’s, Rio Haina Port grew as the principal port in the D.R. due to its large area and capacity of attending a wide range of vessel types. In view of this, in 1990, Maritima Dominicana relocated its new main office within the entrance avenue of Rio Haina Port including a repair shop and modern warehouse.

Currently, we have branch offices established in Caucedo, Manzanillo, Puerto Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Punta Cana and Santiago. The company represents several shipping lines, including container lines and bulk-breakbulk ship owners, thus connecting the Dominican Republic with Europe, East Asia, North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
