La Romana Terminal
La Romana Terminal is located at the mouth of the Romana River. It features a central channel and two docks. The entrance to the channel is 110 meters (361′) wide. The western dock primarily serves as a bulk cargo port for sugar and molasses for the Central Romana sugar mill. It is also used for handling various import cargo, including fuel, wood, steel, and general cargo for the sugar mill. More recently, it has been used for handling containers in and out of the industrial free zones established in La Romana. The eastern dock is exclusively dedicated to cruise ships.
