Manzanillo Port
Manzanillo Port is located in the Northwest part of the Montecristi Province, near major banana farms and close to the border with Haiti. The port was built by Granada S.A., a U.S. banana exporting company, in the 1950s. Although it is still primarily used for the export of refrigerated bananas and other fruits, it is also used for importing general cargo and breakbulk (clinker and coal).
